The contemporary population of people surnamed Lu is about 3.7 million, accounting for approximately 0.31% of the total population in China. The ancestors of the Lu family, who migrated from Hongdong and Dahuaishu during the Ming Dynasty, were from Pingyang and Taiyuan prefectures, Ze, Lu, Liao, Fen, and Qin provinces, as well as Hongdong and Zhaocheng counties. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, it was ordered to relocate the large locust trees in Hongdong to other places. There are four main sources of surnames: ① Originating from after Lu Zhong. According to the "Yuanhe Surname Compilation", it is said that Wu Hui, the grandson of Emperor Zhuanxu in ancient times, was the god of fire Zhu Rong during the reign of Emperor Yao. He had a son named Zhong, who was named Lu Zhong because his fiefdom was in Luxiang. His descendants took Lu as their surname, which is Shandong Lu Originating from the surname Gui. According to the "Genealogy Table of Prime Ministers" in the "New Book of Tang", it is said that King Shun of ancient times was a descendant of Zhuanxu. He obtained the Yao surname because he was born in Yaoxu, and because he once lived by the Guixi River, his descendants were also known as the Gui surname. In the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Guiman established the state of Chen, which was passed down to ten generations. There was a descendant named Chen Wan, who was enfeoffed in Tian, also known as Tian Wan. Tian Wan's legitimate grandson was Tong, the youngest son of King Xuan of Qi, with the courtesy name Jida, and was enfeoffed in Lu Township, Pingyuan County, which was ruled by the ancient tribal leader Lu Zhong. Therefore, the place name Lu was taken as the surname. It is the Lu family of Shandong, historically known as the authentic Lu surname Derived from the surname of a country. According to the "General Principles of Customs" and "Biography of Customs in Chenliu", during the Spring and Autumn Period, the Land Hun Kingdom was named after a group of barbarians named Lu Hun who resided in Yichuan. This group of Lu Hunrong was a branch of the Yun surname Rong. They first operated in the Ruoshui River basin at the border of Shaanxi, Gansu, and Sichuan provinces.
