Cheng surname

The lineage is inherited from King Wen of Zhou, with the ancestor being Shu Wu and Ji Zai, who is the 165th contemporary surname in China. The ancestors of the Cheng family who immigrated to the Hongdong Great Huai Tree in the Ming Dynasty were people from Pingyang Prefecture, Hongdong County, Zhaocheng County, and other regions. ③ Originating from surnames of ethnic minorities. ⑤ Originating from taking the name of a town as a surname. During the Spring and Autumn period, both Zhou and Lu had Chengyi. Zhou Chengyi was located in Luoyang City, Henan Province, and Lu Chengyi was located 90 miles northeast of Ningyang County, Shandong Province. These two places were used by the high-ranking officials as food towns, and some of their descendants became surnames.

The county names with the surname Cheng mainly include Hongnong County and Shanggu County. Shanggu Commandery: Established during the Warring States period in the early state of Yan. The capital of Shanggu County in the Qin Dynasty was located in Juyang (now southeast of Huailai County, Hebei Province).
