Later, Qi Que replaced Zhao Dun as the ruler of the state of Jin, holding a position higher than that of Xu Chen. It is rare for later generations to praise Xu Chen for being able to recognize wise people in the field of farming without jealousy. His descendants took his name Xu as their surname.

The county with the surname Xu has Langya County. Langya Commandery: Originally Langya City of Qi State during the Spring and Autumn Period.
