Sui (su ī) surname
It belongs to the Chengji family, with its ancestor being Suihui, and is the 178th contemporary surname in China. Ming Dynasty Hongdong locust tree immigrants
The ancestors of the Sui Dynasty were people from Pingyang Prefecture, Hongdong County, Zhaocheng County, and other places. In the early Ming Dynasty, they were ordered to move to Hongdong and gather in the large locust trees
In different places, until the end of the Qing Dynasty, their descendants were distributed in Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Gansu, Anhui

His son, Xi Shu, fled to the state of Jin, and Xi Shu's grandson Hui became the Shangqing of the state of Jin, and his fiefdom was scattered everywhere. Its former location is in the eastern part of Jiexiu, Shanxi Province, and it is known as Suihui. The descendants of Suihui will use the city name Suiyi as their surname. In the Sui Dynasty, Emperor Wen of Sui removed the character 'Sui' and the surname 'Sui' became the Sui surname.
Famous Figures: The Dictionary of Chinese Historical Names includes 9 cases of the Sui dynasty. During the Han Dynasty, there was a historical figure surnamed Sui named Sui Yu,
Wuyuan people, serving as prefects; In the Yuan Dynasty, there was a Sui Bao, a native of Laiyang, and a high-ranking official; In the Ming Dynasty, there was Sui Chong, a native of Qixia, who was in the orthodox era

According to the seventh national census, there are 1463 people surnamed Sui in Shanxi Province, 224 in Linfen City, and 31 in Hongdong County.
